Senior Coal Geologist

As a provider of exploration resources to the Asian-Pacific mining sector, our client is well placed to continue their fast paced expansion across Australia.
Their Brisbane office is urgently seeking a Senior Coal Geologist to consult and oversee the management of the Geology Departmen t, with exploration, resource and mine geology roles available.
Within this role you will take responsibility for:
- Underground longwall and development mapping
- Providing effective coal quality analysis and forecasting
- Ensuring currency of geological information
- Overseeing exploration drilling and field geology programs
- Identifying geological hazards and controlling risks
To be eligible to apply for this role you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in geology is essential
- Competencies in the use of coal modelling software
- Minimum 10 years previous experience within Underground and Open cut Coal Mining
- Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
- Proactive attitude to safety
